Just 115 metres off the yellow tees, players are not given a fairway on this hole; just see to cross over and a narrow green to land on. This hole certainly contends as one of the best par threes in the world, and grips all of its players.

The 5,891 metre long course features multiple long par 4s and short par 3s, the Amarilla course offers a true test of golf, and wayward shots will soon find themselves punished. However this course still offers a fair round of golf, and due to the range of tees on offer players can appreciate this course regardless of their handicap.
It is fair to say that Donald Steel has been successful in his aims in designing this course; he has created a renowned and prestigious golf course, widely considered to be one of the best in Tenerife. Here on the Amarilla golf course golfers will enjoy varied play, with some holes characterised by strategically placed water hazards, or undulating terrain. However, perfect course management and stunning panoramic views are consistent throughout the course.
There is a desert feel about Amarilla with the scrub off the fairways, although the landing areas are wide enough to hopefully avoid retrieving too many balls from the awaiting cacti. There are some superb holes on Amarilla and with the sea breeze frequently affecting play, this is an excellent test of golf that must not be underestimated.
The final three holes on this magnificent golf course are characterised by the spacious volcanic sand bunkers which may threaten your scorecard should a wayward shot be affected by the coastal breeze. Aesthetically the 2nd, 3rd and 4th holes are the most notable due to the wide variety of Canarian flora, and stunning Canarian Pines featured.
