The course was designed in 1993 by D. Ferry Manuel Ruiz who made the most of the surrounding landscape to full effect, making use of the natural vegetation such as fig, palm and cork trees. Starting out as a 9-hole course, El Plantio became an 18-hole in no time and has since become one of the best courses in the region. Featuring numerous water hazards, raised greens and strategically placed bunkers, the course is not for the faint hearted. El Plantio can bring out the best and worst from every golfer and provides a stern test for all handicaps.
