This 18 Hole parkland style course has lush wide fairways & multiple different tee options which makes this course suitable for all handicappers. This course produces quite a challenge for all golfers, with a mix of towering trees and large strategically placed bunkers which provide protection to the lightening quick greens.
If this course wasn’t tough enough, there are a total of 50 lakes that make up the landscape as part of the course; meaning you may find youself in a tricky situation where the perfect shot over the water is required, more than once.
Practice Facilities:
When staying onsite at Slieve Russell Hotel Golf & Country Club, guests can access the array of fantastic practice facilities on offer. This includes a Par 3 Academy course for golfers looking to hone their skills before taking on the challenging 18 Hole Championship Course. Additionally there are chipping & putting facilities located nearby the 1st Tee of the PGA National Course.
Golf Course History:
The course is held in high regards by the professionals after hosting multiple prestigious events since its opening in 1992. The PGA National hosted The Irish PGA Championship in 1996 plus a yearly PGA Pro-Am which has been held since 1997. The golf course also hosted notable European Tour events such as The North West of Ireland Open in 2001 & 2002.
