Fairmont St Andrews - Torrance
The Torrance course at Fairmont St Andrews was designed by former Ryder Cup captain Sam Torrance. This testing course measures in at 7230 yards from the back tees and with a Par of 72 it's a tough course to conquer.
Designed as a true test of Scottish golf, the course has classic revetted bunkers and large greens as well as true links character. The course has played host to The Open qualifying as recently as 2010 and the Scottish Seniors. This gives you some indication of the quality you can expect when you arrive on the first tee of the Torrance course. Built on top of the cliffs with stunning views over the North Sea, this course offers classic risk/reward options on many of the holes. Another gentle start awaits as the opening holes navigate around the hotel, when you arrive on the Par 3 8th hole the true beauty of the course and the remaining holes can be seen, with a backdrop of the Tay Estuary this really is quite a spot to take in the stunning surroundings.
