Aphrodite Hills (PGA National Cyprus)

Aphrodite Hills was designed by Cabell Robinson, a well-known golf architect, and opened to the public in 2002. As a sign of its unbeatable quality, the course has gained recognition as the PGA National, Cyprus.  Robinson believes it has the perfect combination of pot bunkers, lush Bermuda grass fairways, and generous tiers of greens. It is built on two plateaus separated by a dramatic ravine with outstanding views over the Mediterranean and extends through indigenous olive and carob trees. The standout hole is the  7th, a tricky par-3 which requires you to carry over a canyon, and where the buggy path to the tee box zig-zags down the side of a hill – a spectacular golf hole.

Secret Valley

Secret Valley is now widely regarded as one of the best golf courses on the island, and set just 18 kilometres from Paphos, is an essential part of any itinerary for a memorable golf escape in Cyprus. In the early mornings and evenings, its unique setting can create some stunning shadows, and this interesting layout is framed by beautiful rock formations and mature trees offering truly unique views reaching out to the Mediterranean Sea. With the front 9 extending out towards the sea, and the back 9 coming back to the clubhouse, this unique Tony Jacklin layout features some superb golf holes, including the iconic 11th & 12th where the stunning turquoise lake and beach bunker come into play.

Elea Golf Club

Elea Golf Club boasts a unique layout by Sir Nick Faldo and has been meticulously crafted through a dramatic terrain, offering a unique character across the course. Meandering through mature carob and olive trees, and home to a multitude of bunkers in true Faldo style, the dramatic landscape of weathered limestone strikes a contrast with the seaside paspalum grass fairways. Despite being a challenging round, even the amateur golfer can enjoy this fabulous golf course thanks to its range of tee positions. The standout holes include the 11th – a tricky par-3 which tests all abilities, and the 17th which requires an accurate drive, navigating the left-to-right fairway and needs to stop before the bridge.

Minthis

Minthis Golf Club is located in an elevated position, 550 metres above sea level and provides a refreshing breeze during your round. The course accommodates players of all abilities due to the range of tee options it has to offer and the fairways are lined with numerous fruit trees and grapevines with various undulations requiring you to play a variety of shots. Situated just a 25-minute drive away from the coast of Paphos and just a 20-minute drive from the town centre, it is highly accessible no matter where you stay. Hole 10 offers a dramatic panoramic view from the tee box and requires you to carry a large ravine, so remember your driver! Then the island green on the 13th requires pinpoint precision if you want to keep your golf ball dry.
