Parco de’ Medici Golf Club

This fantastic golf course is divided into three 9-hole golf courses; the white, red and blue course. With the option of an impressive three courses, golfers here can enjoy a few rounds of varied play. Situated just outside the city centre of Rome, the Parco de’ Medici Golf Club is highly accessible for all travellers to Italy, and boasts a perfect location for an Italian city golfing break!

The landscape of the White course boasts its own unique history; it was previously used as a hunting ground for Leo X, the 15th century Pope. On this course, there are several challenging tee shots which may discourage the use of your driver. The challenge is continued onto the Red course, designed by David Mezzacane and Massimo Mannelli, and is generally considered to be the perfect warm-up course. Lastly, the Blue course is predominantly characterised with several water hazards strategically placed to capture your stray shots. The final fairway on this course distinctively features the remains of an ancient Roman dwelling.

This 80-hectare parkland course boasts several interesting holes that are sure to stay in your memory for years to come. Rome’s principle river, the Tiber, passes through the par-4 13th hole, yet is hidden behind a large bank therefore it is always important to study the course map as not to let it hinder your score. The par-3 15th hole is widely considered to be the best par 3 on the golf course due to its heavily bunkered landscape and the several water hazards lining the green.

Although the course is mainly flat, it does provide some challenges with both the water features and the strategically placed bunkers challenging your golfing abilities. The challenge is further intensified with Mediterranean flora, greenery and trees lining the fairways to act as obstacles. Despite being an undeniably testing course, the Parco de’ Medici Golf Club really is perfect for all abilities with several tee off options on offer to accommodate the more amateur players, and multiple hazards and obstacles to keep even the most skilled player on their toes.
