The par-5 15th looks set to be the hole everyone talks about afterwards, with a dramatic 25-metre drop from tee to fairway, a protected nature reserve on one side and a lake on the other.

Practice facilities include a driving range plus putting and chipping greens, and there’s a Golf Academy for anyone looking to work on their game. Golf carts, trolleys and rental clubs are also available.

When to Go

Spring and autumn are particularly good times for golf in Dalaman, when the weather is warm without the higher temperatures of midsummer.

April to June and September to October are good choices if golf is the main focus of your holiday.

July and August are hotter but work well if you want to combine your rounds with plenty of time around the pool or on the beach.

Winters are milder than in the UK but can also be wetter, so we wouldn’t primarily choose Dalaman for guaranteed winter sun.

Getting to Dalaman

One of Dalaman’s biggest advantages is just how easy it is to reach. Direct seasonal flights operate from a number of UK airports to Dalaman International Airport.

Hilton Dalaman Sarigerme Resort & Golf is around 20 minutes from the airport, so you won’t be facing a long transfer when you arrive. The golf course itself is also just 20 kilometres from Dalaman International Airport.

That makes Dalaman a good option for a week away, but also puts it within easy reach for a shorter golf break.

Beyond the Fairways

Dalaman gives you plenty of reasons to venture beyond the golf course. Nearby Dalyan is well worth a day out, where you can take a boat through its reed-lined waterways, see the ancient rock tombs and explore the ruins of Kaunos.

İztuzu Beach is another highlight. This protected stretch of sand is an important nesting site for loggerhead turtles, while boat trips are a lovely way to see more of the surrounding coastline.
