Acquasanta Golf Club is located southwest of central Rome and it the oldest club in Italy.
It is understood that British and American diplomats founded the club in 1903 and until 1912 the course was just 9 holes.
Like most of Italy the site is steeped in history, there are 15th century buildings along the side of the 1st hole which were the thermal baths built by Pope Paul V. There is also a legendary spring which was a sacred place of worship in Roman times.

Course Info
In 1913 the course was increased to a full 18 hole layout and remains so the present day. The course has par of 71 and measures 6376 yards of the tips. The course reflects the fertile land on which it is built with quick greens and luscious treelined fairways. The course has a forgiving nature with low cut rough, however be sure to be accurate or you will find yourself blocked out but tree for your approaches to the greens.
The clubhouse here is an absolute masterpiece with a wonderful bar and restaurant area. There is a lovely terrace to sit out on and enjoy post round drinks and being Italy it is of course recommended that you try the delicious food they offer here.
