The Alicante Golf Resort was officially opened in 1998, and gradually since then there have been various additions and alterations to the course. For example, lakes and artificial rivers have been constructed, increasing the difficulty of the course. The Alicante Golf Resort is widely considered to be among some of the best maintained golf courses in Spain following the huge renovations that were concluded in 2008.

All of the eighteen holes here were rebuilt to improve their overall design and playability with new landscapes and moulding. The final 18th hole was totally reconstructed so that an unforgettable round of golf can finish with a something truly memorable. The 18th hole is generally considered to be the most challenging on the golf course, however the green on the 14th hole is one of the most memorable with the ruins of a Roman villa from 100 BC.
This fantastic golf course is a par 72 overall, which is not too difficult for higher handicappers but by no means is it easy by a long chalk. The Alicante Golf Resort is one of those golf courses that offers a smooth round, however it is tricky in places and has to be played strategically. This brings in a new element of unsureness to the game and makes for a more interesting round.
The practice facilities at the Alicante Golf Resort are extensive, including a chipping area, a seventy-bay driving range, practice bunkers and a putting range. Private lessons are also available in either Spanish or English so that all players can benefit from this tuition. Club services also include buggy hire, trolley hire, and clubs.
