Royal County Down Golf Club is set in one of the worlds most natural and stunning links settings. The Championship Links course is nestled within the Murlough Nature Reserve with the spectacular backdrop of the Mountains of Mourne.
Renowned as one of the world best links golf courses, the layout at Royal County Down stretches alongside Dundrum Bay and meanders through some breathtaking scenery with a magnificent view from each hole.
The impeccable fairways make their way through impressive sand dunes whilst being surrounded by purple heather and golden gorse. The world famous “bearded” bunkers and truly fast greens contribute to one of the hardest tests of golf you will ever face.
Look out for the ninth hole which is known as one of the most photographed holes in the golfing world, a wonderful Par 4 with an elevated tee shooting down to the fairway 60 feet below.
The course offers golfers of all standards a truly marvellous round with panoramic scenery on every turn of either the nearby mountain ranges or striking coastline. After your round, we recommend you visit the Murlough Room, providing a well earnt beverage and views of the 18th green and the Mountains of Mourne.
