The opening holes are quite gentle and offer you a chance to warm up and maybe even get a birdie or two in before the course gets trickier. The 4th hole is a demanding par 4 and is a classic risk reward hole where you must carry your tee shot across rough to reach a distant undulating fairway. This is a tricky course with some interesting holes throughout but even when you reach the 17th hole there is no letting up as the last two holes are tricky finishers.
This is an impressive and tricky course where Mackenzie has combined an old quarry and the undulating links-like ground to create this marvellous golf course and so it is no surprise that this course ranks as the 34th best course in Ireland.
