Golf des Yvelines – Les Chênes Course

The course was originally designed by English Architect Bill Baker in 1990, however Architect Jean Claude Cornillot has managed most of the renovations & changes throughout the last 10 years.

The course is very technical with varying doglegs and tight fairways which will require a lot of precise tee shots to set you up to be able to attack the greens to chase a good score. However this is no easy task as many of the greens are protected by strategically placed bunkers, making it a challenge for any level of golfer.

Standout Holes

The standout holes at Golf des Yvelines would have to be the Signature Par 5, 6th Hole. The 525 yard hole is dead straight with the hole being in sight from the tee box due to an elevated tee position. A straight hole might sound easy, but with a narrow fairway, bunkers & trees surrounding the entirety of the hole, it means precision and staying in the fairway is paramount. Then when it comes to reaching the pin you will find a bunker engulfing the front side of the steep sloping green, which makes the shot one of the most important on the course, as a tiny misjudgement could see your ball end up short in the sand or see your ball sloping off the green into the rough.

Another fantastic hole would be the Par 4, 5th Hole. The 420 Yard hole starts with a tricky dogleg left, which leaves you with a tough decision whether to take the ball close to the tree line to give you as much chance of making the green in two, or do you play it safely to the middle of the fairway to keep a solid score going. Then upon your shot into the green you have 3 bunkers surrounding the green, which means accuracy is of upmost importance to score well on the 5th Hole.
