The main golf course at North Foreland Golf Club provides golfers of any abilities with an enjoyable round and although the fairways are fairly exposed which means that when the wind is up, you must hit accurately in order to score well, the fairways are quite wide which gives you extra room for error. With beautiful panoramic views from each and every tee and green, North Foreland golf course is a free running chalk downland course and is widely considered to be Kent’s premier all year-round course to play. The two sets of nine holes play very differently with the opening nine softening you up for the back nine which are far more exposed to the weather conditions! Although the course is not long at 6,436 yards, it can be very challenging especially as the holes often look forgiving.

You will always receive a warm welcome from the staff at the golf club and there are some great facilities including a modern clubhouse which is inviting and well-appointed with a professional golf shop, changing facilities and a social suite.

The social suite boasts an upstairs bar and balcony from which you can enjoy panoramic views and downstairs there is a lounge and Carvery restaurant. In the Carvery restaurant, you can have everything from a fresh and tasty baguette to a brilliant three course meal and on a Sunday you can enjoy freshly cut meat with all of the trimmings and freshly made desserts.

This is a challenging course which can be made even more difficult when the weather is not clear and dry as the wind can affect the holes that are most exposed and when it is wet, the bunkers are almost impossible to get out of! The holes that are most affected by the wind include the 8th, 9th, 14th and 17th.

This is a great underrated course and one that is fast running and challenging. North Foreland is a great course that is always in great condition with greens that run true and some very challenging holes that will test even the most discerning golfer.
