The Strand course is very impressive in all ways but it is not to be underestimated at over 7,000 yards it can be quite the challenge. One of the great things about the Strand course is that it is almost impossible to detect where the new holes were added and where the course was extended due to the way in which that the holes blend effortlessly with one another and with the surrounding landscapes. This is a very fun course with a spectacular set of opening nine holes that are carved out through huge dunes with some spectacular views across the Atlantic mouth of Lough Foyle out to the Inishowen peninsula beyond. The back nine provides you with a different challenge but still an interesting one as the course meanders down the river where you can enjoy some more brilliant views as you play through the holes.
This is a great course and a perfect addition to any stay in Northern Ireland especially if you’re looking for a brilliant, fun and challenging course with so many unique and memorable holes.
