This fantastic par 72 desert style golf course is characterised by undulating fairways and tricky greens nestled in between a huge lake, bunkers and desert dunes. Furthermore, located just a twenty-minute drive from Murcia Airport and in close proximity to a wide array of golf courses in the area, the Saurines de la Torre golf course is perfectly located for all golfers in Murcia.
The Saurines de la Torre is undeniably a challenging golf course, measuring to an impressive 6459 metres. However, the main challenge here is centred around the huge six-hectare lake based in the back nine holes. This massive lake plays a big role in the back nine and creates an invigorating challenge for the final hole on the course. The Saurines de la Torre undoubtedly offers a stern test of golf however with three different tee off options to choose from, there is some leeway for the less skilled golfers.
Despite the Saurines de la Torre carrying the label of a desert golf course, it actually has a distinctive links feel to it that is recognisable from other Jack Nicklaus golf courses. Several holes wind through desert dunes across rolling fairways and undulating greens. Perfect for long hitters, the par 5 holes are certainly reachable as two of them are under 480 metres long; however, players must be mindful of the strategically placed hazards lying both sides of the green.
A signature hole at the Saurines de la Torre includes the final 18th hole with a distinctive split-level green. Combined with an undulating terrain, this hole is not for the faint hearted. This unique par three poses as a threat to a good score card with a huge lake lining the right side of the green and a sharp gully carved into the length of the green.
