The course features in the Top 10 Courses in Ireland, and also makes the Top 50 courses list in UK & Ireland, which makes this a bucket list round on any golf trip. This course is also a must play due its very unusual design, with the layout having eight par 4's, five par 3's & five par 5's, which is very atypical to the average course, but this is sure to produce a fantastic challenge for anyone brave enough to take on the course. One of the five par 3's is the Signature 14th hole which measures a mere 111 yards. The short yardage is made even shorter by the elevated tee position, but don't underestimate this hole, as the green is engulfed by the Atlantic Ocean off the right side, with the thick rough and sand dunes surrounding the green ready to hide any ball that comes its way. The par 3 is open to the natural elements, which means wind plays a major factor in club selection off the tee, and it is well documented that depending on the wind conditions on the day, golfers can expect to use anything from a sand wedge to a 3 iron.
