Created by South African golfing legend Ernie Els in 2008, the Els Club Dubai is one of the most luxurious resorts in the world and is consistently ranked amongst the top courses in Dubai.
At 7,538 yards long, this course poses as a challenge to even the best players yet with four sets of teeing areas for each hole, all standards of players can appreciate this magnificent course.
Els stated when opening this stunning course “I am really proud of what we have achieved here. Whether you are an 18 handicap or a scratch golfer, it will be a great test of golf.” Regardless of your handicap you may well feel like a pro here! Due to the flawless landscape of this course, it comes as no surprise that the Els Club course was named the Best New International Course by Links, the famous US magazine in 2008.
As a desert links design there are bunkers and water hazards to avoid the immaculate fairways. A large amount of sand has been shifted when constructing this desert links course, adding contours to the flat terrain. The course includes significant elevation for tees to further intensify the challenge of this course. To create the flawless desert links effect, an abundance of sandy waste areas and rough native grasses line fairway with vegetation strategically placed. A huge benefit of Dubai’s climate is that this spectacular course can be played all year round.

Course Info
Particularly notable holes of the Els Club golf course include the 7th and 15th due to the water hazards they include. In an attempt to create a true ‘desert links’ course, a significant amount of sand had to be re-constructed, and in doing so Els decided to place several large water hazards. When the natural element of wind comes into play, the golfer must tackle these holes with extreme caution as not to flaw their scorecard.
As part of Dubai Sports City the club house here is possibly the best in the region at an impressive 60,000-square-feet. Featuring two restaurants and modern facilities such as Jacuzzis and saunas, the Els Club clubhouse exudes elegance. Even their pro-shop has been recognised as one of the top 100 outlets in the world for 2014. Visitors can choose between the Big Easy Bar & Grill, or the 261 Restaurant to enjoy top quality cuisine.
