Hesketh Golf Club

The oldest club in the Southport area, dating back to 1885, is the superb Hesketh Golf Club. The course is located in the North of Merseyside and has continued to establish a glowing reputation within the golfing world.
This stunning links course presents a stern test to all golfers and is a pleasure to walk to witness the abundance of wildlife and fauna which appear all year round.
Hesketh Golf Club is not a traditional links course and can be split into two distinct halves, part links and part parkland. The layout utilises the tower sand dunes, reflecting the beauty of the England golf coast, whilst the other half boarders the picturesque Ribble Estuary. All in all providing a unique challenge and varied round, which is playable again and again.
Its reputation can be derived from the course being consistently selected for the final qualifying round when Royal Birkdale is staging the Open Championship, as well as hosting numerous professional and amateur championships in the past.
Look out for the Par 3 16th hole, that demands accuracy and was once described by Henry Cotton as the best short hole in Lancashire.
The rich history at Hesketh Golf Club is a must see when challenging the array of championship standard courses in the North West.
