Korineum Golf & Country Club
The fabulous Korineum Golf & Country Club is the first 18-hole golf course in Northern Cyprus, and has already asserted itself as one of the best in the region. With stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea on one side, and breath-taking views of the famous Five Finger mountain range on the other, this is an unmissable course.
Korineum Golf & Country Club is a 6,232 metre, par 72 gem designed by British golf course architect David Hemstock. The paspalum grass creates the unique playing surface in this part of the Mediterranean, unlike any other course in the region. Tee shots are typically aimed straight at the Mediterranean or up at the mountains, therefore the views offered on this course are always taken advantage of. Hemstock envisioned his golf course to be one of high quality, and one that opened its arms to golfers of all abilities and handicaps - it is fair to say that he succeeded in all of his goals with the Korineum golf course.
The course has been carved from a natural forest of umbrella pines olive and carob trees, and provides an invigorating challenge throughout. By utilising the golf course’s natural landscape and terrain, a unique golfing experience has been created. The course’s natural greenery including the carob and olive trees have remained during construction, and therefore the course has naturally been formed into a very distinct and unique shape. With a slightly undulating terrain, the greens on the Korineum golf course bear a fantastic test of golf.

The views on this golf course are simply memorising, and are possibly the best part of this course. On a clear day with no clouds in the sky, the views even extend out to Turkey on the horizon. With its coastal location views of the sea are offered throughout, and a breezy day can add to this already invigorating challenge. A meal at the Valley Restaurant on the clubhouse truly takes advantage of the course’s stunning setting.
The golf course is consistently kept in immaculate condition throughout the year, and with the strategically placed water hazards and bunkers, it can be a little challenging even for those of a lower handicap with some holes. Numerous fairways tend to be very tight on the Korineum golf course, and the greens are often predictable, but this is a fantastic course and one which holiday-goers love; make sure you play at Korineum on your next golf holiday to Cyprus.
