Le Touquet La Foret
A parkland course set charmingly amongst hundred year old pine and birch trees, this course offers a more sheltered round from the coastal winds of its impressive yet demanding sister course “La Mer”. With wider fairways, this magnificent course welcomes players of all handicaps for an unforgettable round of golf.
The broader fairways of “Le Foret” allow golfers of all standards to enjoy a more relaxing round, but smaller, tricky greens provide an ample challenge for golfers of all standards to master. Furthermore, these wide greens can allure players into a false sense of security because, as the course’s name suggests, the course is densely populated the trees and lush greenery. This comes into play on the par-4 8th hole, where players are encouraged to aim their shot right of the fairway so that they can still have a chance to hit the green in two. If the shot is hit with a left approach, they will find their game stumped by the forest. The challenge doesn’t end there; there are spacious bunkers waiting to trip players up again at the green.

Recent course improvements include a number of hole renovations and new greens, along with a par 4 13th hole measuring a massive 460 yards. Furthermore, the 14th and 15th holes were also included in this renovation, along with new greens for the 11th and 14th holes. Moderately flat and not arduously long, excellent approach play and solid putting will be welcome as you enjoy a pleasurable round. This course acts as a fabulous accompaniment to its sister course.
The par-5 14th hole is most likely to be the trickiest hole on the course due to its narrow fairway, and the dog leg right towards the green. The narrow approach is worsened by several spacious bunkers lining the green. It is not an exaggeration to say that players need to bring their A-game when playing this course. Another dog leg comes into play on the final hole of this course, however once it is overcome, there is an easy and welcoming final approach shot. The La Foret course is anything but predictable.
The architecture of the Le Touquet clubhouse if definitely a sight to marvel at; featuring a fabulous structure of wood and glass that blends in with the natural forestry surrounding the courses. Within the clubhouse golfers are invited to treat themselves to a delectable meal on the restaurant terrace, or visit the well-stocked pro shop.
