Nefyn and District Golf Club boasts a dramatic and breathtaking location situated on the cliff tops at the foot of the Porthdinllaen headland.
The club boasts the fantastic Old course which is the club’s premier configuration out of its 27-hole complex.
There are very few seaside golf courses that you can enjoy stunning views of the sea from every hole but here at Nefyn, you can. The opening holes of the course take you out away from the clubhouse to the series of clifftop holes on the edge of the headland and the back nine plays along the Point peninsular and boasts stunning views. On a clear day, not only can you see the sea, but you can spot peaks of the Wicklow Mountains across the Irish Sea. What makes this course so special is because there are holes situated on the Point’s spectacular cliff edge which are both quirky and dramatic. The Old course at Nefyn and District Golf Club is a brilliant course that offers an exciting and interesting round for golfers of all abilities as well as breathtaking views from each and every hole. A round or two at this fantastic golf club is the perfect accompaniment to a great golf escape to Wales, based at the great Royal Sportsman Hotel.

Course Info
A day at Nefyn and District Golf Club could never be a disappointment due to both the magnificent course and the club’s facilities. Before you take on the challenging course, you can practice a few shots on the club’s driving range and of course, the 19th hole is often one of the most important to you during any round of golf. The 19th hole here will not disappoint as the staff are very friendly and the food within the bar is brilliant.
The course opens with a series of four holes which run closely along the rugged coastline before you move inland to tackle some testing par-4s and a very challenging par-3. You then move onto The Point where there are eight holes on a narrow peninsula with both fairways and tees situated above secluded coves and inlets on one side and on the other sit sandy beaches. After the par-4 15th hole, you will find a footpath that you can take down to the Ty Coch Inn which is located on the beach and is the perfect place to have a drink before tackling the three closing holes.
This is a superb golf course with 18 very different and very interesting holes, every single one of them is memorable. With a photo opportunity within every hole, spectacular surroundings and breathtaking views, a round here is not to be missed out on.
