Royal St George's Golf Club
The Royal St George's Golf Club is one of England's finest links courses and played host to The Open Championship fourteen times
The club was founded in 1887 in a setting of wild duneland overlooking Pegwell Bay. No successive holes play in the same direction, so good judgement of wind is essential. A number of holes feature blind or partially blind shots, requiring the player to plot his way around the course, athough 20th century course alterations, have removed the most extreme. The course also possesses the deepest bunker in Championship golf, ‘The Himalayas’ can be found on the drive on the fourth hole! Visitors are greeted with a warm, friendly welcome in the historic clubhouse. Dress etiquette is required.
