Yas Links Golf Club
The Yas Links Golf Club, designed by the highly acclaimed architect Kyle Phillips, was the first true links course introduced in the Middle East and is consistently placed in the top 25 influential courses in Golf Digest. The Yas Links course makes the trip to Abu Dhabi a worthy venture and an absolute must on your next Abu Dhabi golfing itinerary.
This stunning course is set against breath-taking views of the Arabian Gulf, whilst providing an ultimate test of your golfing ability. Featuring rolling fairways, strategically placed pot bunkers and sloping run off greens, the course is not for the faint hearted and is a stern challenge for lower handicaps. Each varied hole, including five tee positions, contains a new obstacle to face, providing a unique golfing challenge. Yet due to the varying tee position, golfers of less ability can still enjoy this magnificent course. The Yas Links offers a golfing experience that passionate golfers could only dream about. Extending across 7,450 yards, this superb 18-hole layout was constructed over three years, reshaping two miles of coastline and used nearly two million cubic metres of sand to cap the course.

It is a common thought that the ‘’cape’’ hole at the 9th is the strongest of par fours as the tee shot is threatened by the water hazard on its right side, and the more length that is gained in the shot from the tee then the shorter the approach is to a green that falls away at the back. However, it is undeniable that the 18th hole is a perfect finishing hole where the coast lines the left hand side threatens shots all the way from the tee, to the green. Amateur golfers are advised to play it safe and take the easier option for this hole, which would be to play away from the water to avoid the central fairway bunker off the tee, then a long waste bunker running down the left hand side of this narrow green.
The clubhouse at the Yas Links Golf Club course exudes luxury with its modern facilities. Visitors are invited to take a dip in the infinity swimming pool, then relax in the steam room. The clubhouse features Hickory’s Sports Bar, a place where players can indulge in succulent steaks whilst enjoying live coverage of the latest major sporting events. Alternatively they can visit Barranca for true Mediterranean cuisine. To improve their strategy, golfers can visit the course’s golf academy and receive lessons from committed professionals, or purchase all necessary golfing equipment and accessories from the pro shop.
