The area around the Creek is the oldest part of Dubai and was where the original traders houses were. It is still a trading area where the dhows unload straight onto the edge of the road in Deira and you can wander up and down to see what's happening. You can cross the Creek easily on small abras (small wooden boats) and it is in this area that you find the famous gold souks and small traders selling everything you can imagine. It is also where the National Museum is based in a traditional house with the wind towers which were used for natural cooling.   Of course the home of the Dubai Creek Golf Course, one of the icons of Dubai Golf
