Mauritius is a multi lingual destination with English as the official language. French and Mauritian Creole are widely spoken but most people in hotels, golf clubs and tourist areas will speak excellent English,

The local currency is the Mauritian Rupee (MUR). Credit cards are accepted almost everywhere and ATMs are easy to find in most resorts and towns.
Weather & climate
Mauritius has a warm, tropical climate year-round. You can expect temperatures of around 24-32c with the driest months between May to November. The warmer, more humid conditions tend to fall between December-April.
Time difference
Mauritius is typically +4 hours ahead of the UK (GMT+4). During British Summer Time, the difference is +3 hours.
Flights & travel time
Direct flights from London to Mauritius take around 11-12 hours, with several weekly departures from major airlines.
Visa & entry requirements
UK passport holders do not need a visa for tourism stays up to 60 days. A valid passport, return ticket and proof of accommodation are required upon entry.
