At this golf holiday in Portugal...
When arriving at the first tee, take in the stunning view over the lake on the right-hand side, whilst remembering that the best tee shot will favour the left side of the fairway allowing it to funnel back to middle with the fairway sloping left to right towards the water. The course then goes on to provide some stunning drives through tight tree lined avenues but also some holes where you can open your shoulders, for example the par 5 14th hole. Alamos is the shortest course out of the three that belong to Nau Hotels but by no means the easiest for a good score, the 10th hole is a great example for this a short narrow par 4 with a water hazard along the left-hand side the cuts in in front of the green about 25 yards out making for a daunting approach shot.
The course itself offers a lovely secluded location with great views of the course and local Monchique Mountain range, with you maybe sighting the odd derelict farm out-building in the distance. The clubhouse is shared with Morgado golf course, providing a lovely outside patio area overlooking Morgado and the practice area. Alamos is a must play when staying in the Algarve at a NAU property.
