Set against the backdrop of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains, it is a visually breath-taking course and an invigorating challenge. The debut design of Scottish professional Niall Cameron opened as recently as October 2014, and is already on track to become the best course in Morocco.
This 7,042-yard, par-72 eco-friendly golf course blends superbly into the natural desert landscape featuring olive, cacti and palm trees. Niall Cameron had a direct vision for his first golf course design; he wanted to create a golf course that integrates its natural landscape to create a distinct challenge.

A distinctive feature in the design of this modern course includes its protection of its natural environment and consistent efforts to reduce water consumption. Therefore 45% of the course’s landscape was designed to conserve water resources by minimalizing consumption.
Furthermore, the environment was further protected in the construction of Assoufid Golf Club’s with a large number of trees retained and replanted. An impressive 44 hectares of land remained in its natural desert form.Lastly, a unique feature of the course includes the Shaaba waterway, weaving in and out of holes throughout. Another benefit of this is that it opens up the back nine, allowing players to fully marvel at the stunning views of the landscape.
The most difficult hole on this course is undoubtedly the par 4 5th, played from an elevated tee. The fairways here are lined with a desert landscape which immediately threatens to swallow any wayward shots. It is recommended golfers play from the left to give a better view of the flag, as a shot from the right side will leave you with a totally blind shot.
