About Garden Golf de Chantilly
Garden Golf de Chantilly has a calm, easy-going feel from the moment you arrive. It is not trying to be the toughest course in the Paris region, and that is exactly why many golfers enjoy it! Instead, it offers a well-presented and very playable round in a beautiful woodland setting.
The course was built on sandy soil, which helps with drainage and keeps it playable for much of the year. That makes it a very useful option for golf holidays outside the main summer months, especially if you want a course that feels reliable, relaxed and easy to fit into an itinerary.
Fourteen of the holes run close to the edge of the forest, giving golfers lovely views of mature trees, greenery and local wildlife throughout the round. It all feels very peaceful, but the woodland can still catch you out. The fairways may look inviting, but loose drives can quickly find trouble, so it is worth keeping a few spare balls in the bag.
The remaining four holes have a different feel, sitting closer to the Mercure Chantilly hotel. Here, the scenery opens up around the French gardens, water features and elegant hotel architecture, giving the round a nice change of pace before or after the forest holes.
Although Garden Golf de Chantilly is generally one of the more forgiving courses in the area, it still has enough interest to keep better players engaged. Raised greens, carefully placed water hazards and a few tempting shots mean you still need to think your way around rather than simply reaching for the driver on every tee.
Its mostly flat layout also makes it easy to walk, which is a real bonus for holiday golfers and mixed ability groups. It works beautifully as a warm-up course before playing some of Chantilly’s tougher layouts, or as a more relaxed round when you want to enjoy the setting as much as the score.
Practice facilities include a driving range, pitching areas and putting greens, so there is plenty of opportunity to loosen up before your round or spend a little time fine-tuning your game.
