Dunston Hall Golf Course

  • Situated just five miles from the historic city of Norwich is the brilliant Dunston Hall golf course, on-site of the Dunston Hall Hotel. The course beautifully contours around the lovely Dunston Hall estate and poses a great and interesting challenge of golf to those of all handicaps.

The Dunston Hall course makes the most of its brilliant location as, during the round, you weave through the beautiful wooded parkland estate and can enjoy the stunning backdrop of the hotel mansion as well as the estate’s natural features. There are many lakes and strategically placed bunkers features on many of the holes but as long as you manage to play more good shots than bad, you won’t be too harshly punished with your scorecard here. The trick for this course, especially on the front nine, is to hit straight to avoid the rough and various other hazards along the route. There is no doubting that this is a great holiday course with shallow bunkers, beautiful surroundings and the opportunity to relax and enjoy a calm round of golf. This is an excellent and stunning course which provides golfers of all abilities the chance to enjoy a great round of golf in a lovely location – the perfect addition to any golf escape to the Norwich area.

Before your round, take advantage of the 22-bay floodlit driving range, large short game area and even the Footgolf course. Whether you are looking to warm up with a few practice shots or have a little fun before your round, there are certainly the right facilities at Dunston Hall Golf Club in order to do so.

The 19th hole at Dunston Hall Golf Club is an impressive one which boasts a lovely, informal atmosphere for you to relax within after a round of golf. The Bunkers Bar boasts the perfect setting for you to relax in and have a few drinks and maybe try one of the chef’s specials whilst you are overlooking the mature parkland course and reminiscing about your round.

There are several very interesting par-4 holes which require you to navigate your way around by hitting straight and accurate shots but deservingly, the 16th hole is the course’s signature hole. You need to hit a good, long and straight drive in order to set up your play to reach the slightly elevated island green and if you don’t play this shot well, you can end up next to the lake’s edge. The challenge has not ended when you reach the green as it is deceptively fast and sloping so make sure that you judge the terrain before tacking a putt!

This is an excellent course which is always in immaculate condition and which serves as a perfect partner for a stay and play golf holiday at Dunston Hall Hotel.
