This 18-hole course provides an outstanding game from the first tee and with a variety of holes and landscape, this course will keep you enthralled to the very last moment.
The layout of Golf de Makila has been designed on undulating hills through an ancient oak wilderness. The real marvel of the course is derived from the magnificent views of the constant Pyrenees Mountain backdrop. Recently created by Rocky Roquemore, this well balanced course has been carefully planned and constructed to make every hole as enjoyable as the last. This American architect has successfully blended this magnificent course with its natural hilly landscape, incorporating many original features such as its century’s old oak trees and shrubbery. Without causing harm to the course’s original landscape, Roquemore has successfully created a fantastic course worthy of all the prestige it’s known for.

Do not be led into a false sense of security with the wide fairways on this course; strategically placed bunkers and greenery are rife here, and if your concentration slips for even a second you may find your scorecard seriously hindered. This course warmly welcomes golfers of all abilities with its multiple tees on offer; no player will ever find that their handicap restricts them from playing this fabulous course. This par-72 golf course offers the perfect balance for golfers; those with a lower handicap can enjoy a moderate challenge whereas the less confident player can take advantage of the range of tees and appreciate this marvellous course. The practice facilities of this course are particularly notable; featuring a driving range and putting green.
Initially players may view this course as challenging with its complex and technical layout. The tree-lined greens require straight-shots from multiple holes, but there is room for error on this course so you need not feel alarmed. The front nine holes of this course are arguably the most memorable however the back nine feature the best views. Water hazards on this course are featured on many holes on the lower sections of both halves, successfully intensifying the challenge this course bears. Situated in an area of rolling hills and valleys, players must be prepared for a few steep climbs!
It is clearly not a mystery as to why many flock to Biarritz for their golf holidays, and the Golf de Makila course is a valuable asset of this fantastic region.
