Lighthouse, a thriving parkland-style course designed by the famous ex-Ryder Cup Captain Ian Woosnam, is located on the dramatic limestone cliffs overlooking the Black Sea. Woosnam has created an exciting challenge for both amateur and professional players. Lighthouse is definitely worth a visit upon your next golf holiday to Bulgaria.
The course measures 6720 yards and with a par of 71, the course offers a variety of different challenges and interesting hole layouts, enough to test golfers of many different abilities. Players will always need to take into account the indecisive breeze from the Black Sea in order to put together a good scorecard. The greens at Lighthouse are certainly worth a mention; large, fast, true and undulating. The Lighthouse was developed to complement its two neighbours on Cape Kaliakra with its structure of its fairways branching out towards the cliff edge.
The climate of Bulgaria was thoroughly considered during construction of the golf course, so that modern breeds of grass could be used to optimise conservation of resources and the environment, whilst not forgetting to enhance the player’s golfing experience. Furthermore, water consumption and recycling was also considered whilst designing the drainage and watering systems.

The Lighthouse golf course offers its players a choice of playing five short holes, two on the front nine and three on the back nine spread across 6,720 yards. On the 17th hole, measuring 164 yards, the course’s potential is shown the most where the water lines the front right side of the green. Although the Lighthouse was only created in late 2008, already the course feels fully developed and many of the holes are lined with mature greenery.
The Pro-Shop at the Lighthouse golf course stocks high quality and well known branded clothing, golf clubs and accessories. Another valuable attribute of the clubhouse includes the ‘Prestige’ restaurant which provides its guests with a classic yet elegant dining experience. The menu incorporates delicacies from the Mediterranean and Black Sea regions.
