Noria Golf Club
Opened in early 2014 and designed by Steve Forrest with the vision of celebrating traditional Moroccan landscape and architecture, this unique course plays on the backdrop of the visually stunning snow-capped Atlas Mountains. Offering stunning views and an invigorating challenge throughout, the La Noria golf course is not to be missed when on holiday in Morocco.
The course incorporates three landscape experiences, the orchards, gardens and dunes of rural Marrakech. Measuring an impressive 6,589 metres from the back tees, this course offers a memorable challenge whilst still inviting even the most amateur players to tackle its greens. Those with a higher handicap can choose to play off one of the four alternative lengths ranging from 4,579 metres to 6,116 metres. The course consists of two par-36 nine hole loops, winding through the course’s original landscape. By utilising the course’s natural landscape in its unique design, players can experience an interesting round with varied play.

A significant feature of the La Noria course is the stunning ‘’basin’’ which divides the front and back nine, and stretches back to the clubhouse. The landscape here at the La Noria is widely considered to be unique due to the authentic blend of an orchard, lavender field and desert landscape. These landscapes characterise the holes of the course, and create a fantastically varied round. Furthermore, other authentic Moroccan features include reflective pools, and bell towers. Laden with beautiful and intriguing holes, the par 3 8th features a unique square water hazard in homage to the reflective pools of a traditional Moroccan village.
With the rapid growth of golf tourism in Morocco, each and every course must have something to make it stand out, and include an original and innovative landscape. This is exactly the thought Steve Forrest had in mind when designing this course, and it is fair to say that he most definitely succeeded in creating a truly unique experience in a beautiful setting. A challenging course requiring planning and accuracy, La Noria features 85 strategically placed bunkers and many unique holes you are sure not to forget.
Caddies are compulsory in Morocco and on some courses that applies even if you hire a buggy. Fees are paid locally with the minimum amount being 100 Dirhams (£8.00) however if your caddy has done a good job then you are expected to pay 150 - 200 Dirhams. Please allow for this extra cost when you're planning your golf holiday to Morocco.
