Real Sotogrande Golf Club is located in the luxurious area of Sotogrande in the Costa Del Sol, Spain. The Course is amung one of the best in the area & is Ranked the #2 Course in all of Spain & features in the Top 10 Courses in Europe.

The Real Sotogrande Golf Club is an immaculate golf course and considered one of Robert Trent Jones’s true masterpieces, chosen by him as one of his favourite designs from more the 500 he has designed worldwide.

The course, which opened in 1964, was his first ever design in Europe and compliments his philosophy down to a tee; a course which perfectly combines the natural surroundings & provides a stern challenge for lower handicappers, yet playable for all abilities of golfer.

The course is only 150 metres from the Mediterranean creating breath-taking view from a majority of the holes. The course comprises of wide fairways, elevated greens, over 100 bunkers whilst several varieties of trees and water hazards focus the mind, as there is very little rough to define the fairways.

Everything ran like clockwork, thanks to Golf Escapes.

La Cala Golf Resort, Spain, was just about the perfect venue for our latest golf trip. Just back at my desk after a four day trip. Everything ran like clockwork, thanks to Golf Escapes. The hotel, the spa and most importantly the three golf courses at La Cala were excellent. Each hole seems to have fantastic views and nearly every hole has a wow factor. I'm not sure who decided to design a golf course on such a plot of land but I'm glad they did. This might be the first place we will be returning to.

We had a great time.

Hotel, transfers & courses were very good. Our golf could have been better. My friend will be taking the reins for next year’s trip. We may extend by one day. Lauro was the easiest, Chaparral was fantastic but a bit tough for some of our higher handicappers. Torrequebrada was probably our favourite. Hotel was excellent. Staff & food/drink were good. The shuttle company were excellent.
