What to expect at Ramside Hall Golf Club.

Course Overview:
The way I would describe Prince Bishop's is a hugely fun course. There is a wide variety in the design and it will test every facet of your game. The first 5 holes, that come back towards the club house includes some enticing tee shots. A good drive on the 5th makes this par 5 very gettable and on the uphill tee shot on the short par 3 where more often than not you will have the wind deal with. Then there is the scenic tee shot on the fourth that overlooks the whole facility and beyond into county Durham setting the scene for the rest of the round.

With water hazards around the turn, further add's to the risk-reward the course has been known to be famous for. The back 9 heads out further into the sticks, with magnificent views of the quiet countryside surrounding the holes. One of our personal favourites is the par 3 15th, which offers the challenge of the island green which is surrounded by the marshland. This is one of the those times you really need to stand up and hit a proper golf shot, or else face the inevitable consequences of a very wet ball. Bishop's finishes with a tight par 4 bringing you into the clubhouse. With the hotel on the right, and the luxury private suites on the left, this requires the classic 18 hole nerve of a straight tee shot, avoiding the bunkers down the left and then an accurate approach shot to avoid the water hazard to the left hand-side of the green.

After the round, it feels almost essential to make make the most of the clubhouse and everything it has to offer. A perfect end to a memorable day on the course.
