Championship Course at the Royal Zoute Golf Club

Resembling a traditional English golf course it features cleverly protected greens and undulating fairways, generous in size and stature, yet the various contours and hummocks can drop your ball in the most unexpected places. The strong winds are a predominant force on this stunning course and proves to be one of the biggest obstacles to tackle against. Playing host to the Belgian Open for a number of years the course has hosted some of the all-time greats, including Henry Cotton and Arnold Palmer. With no weak holes it is no wonder why Nick Faldo once described this course as a “hidden gem”. The Championship course is a superb natural links course and will please all lovers of the game.

Whilst the greens look appetisingly easy to hit, hidden contours of the fairway can often unexpectedly divert balls. Further difficulty may arise when the wind blows as players are required to use a wide range of shots. Consequently some players may view the course as a hidden challenge. There is a long stretch from the 5th to the 16th hole, which appeals to the links lovers and those who favour less trees. This course is not long; however it is a fabulous challenge with its contours and hollows.

The stunning traditional club house features a restaurant, bar and outside terrace to enjoy the beautiful views across the golf course. The clubhouse also includes a pro shop, where players can purchase all essential golfing clothing, equipment and accessories. If golfers find themselves in need of a ‘pick me up’, they will find their needs met by the Halfway House which offers a selection of snacks and refreshments. For those seeking practice and relaxed fun before or after a round, there is a par 64 Executive golf course onsite with very reasonable rates.
