About Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort
Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort is positioned about 30 minutes south of Dublin, but feels a world away once you arrive!
Surrounded by rolling Wicklow countryside, the hotel has a relaxed sense of luxury rather than anything too formal. The style is comfortable and understated, with spacious rooms, woodland views and plenty of places to switch off after golf.
There are two championship courses on site, an award-winning spa, an indoor pool and a good choice of places to eat and drink, all without needing to leave the resort.
Two Championship Courses On-site
Having two very different courses within the resort is a big part of the appeal.
Druids Glen is the headline act. Designed by Pat Ruddy and Tom Craddock, it is one of Ireland’s best-known parkland courses, with mature trees, water features and beautifully framed holes throughout.
It hosted the Irish Open four times and the Seve Trophy, giving it the sort of tournament pedigree that adds a little extra excitement to the round.
Following a major restoration, the course reopened in 2023 with upgraded greens, pathways and irrigation while keeping the character that made it so popular in the first place.
Druids Heath offers a very different experience. Designed by Pat Ruddy, it feels more open and exposed, with firm fairways, pot bunkers and views towards the Irish Sea and Sugarloaf Mountain. The sea breeze can make club selection interesting, and the course hosted the Irish PGA Championship in 2006.
Playing both gives the break real variety without the need to organise transfers between rounds.
Rooms and Suites
The hotel has 145 spacious rooms and suites, decorated in soft, natural tones that suit the Wicklow setting. The feel is comfortable rather than showy, with plenty of space to unwind after a day on the course.
Award-Winning Spa and Health Club
The Spa at Druids Glen is a real bonus after golf.
The softly lit spa has seven treatment rooms and a peaceful relaxation area, with treatments using GROUND and IMAGE Skincare products.
It has also picked up several Irish Tatler Spa Awards over the years, including recognition for wellness, service and body treatments.
The adjoining health club has an 18-metre heated indoor pool, Jacuzzi, plunge pool, sauna, steam room and gym.
Dining and Drinks
There is a good choice of places to eat and drink around the resort.
Hugo’s Restaurant has a bright, relaxed feel and woodland views, while the Garden Rooms and Bar is an easy option for a casual meal or a drink after golf. Its terrace overlooks the famous 13th hole on the Druids Glen course.
Afternoon tea is also available, and the golf clubhouse gives you another informal option after a round.
A Relaxed Wicklow Base
Druids Glen is a great choice for golfers who want a quieter side of Ireland without feeling cut off.
Dublin is still close enough to include in the trip, while the resort’s countryside setting makes it easy to slow things down between rounds.
There is also a six-kilometre walking trail within the grounds for a stroll before dinner or an afternoon away from the fairways.
A Standout Stay-and-Play Option
Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort has the balance just right.
You get two excellent championship courses, a five-star hotel, a highly regarded spa and a peaceful Wicklow setting, all within straightforward reach of Dublin.
For golfers looking for an easy, polished and genuinely relaxing Dublin and East Ireland golf holiday, it is a very appealing choice. It also fits beautifully into a wider Ireland golf holiday.
