What makes Tenerife a popular golfing destination?
Tenerife is a popular golf destination throughout the year as European golfers flock here to enjoy the (almost!) guaranteed sunshine and mild climate. The courses reduce their rates considerably during the summer months, so a golf break in Tenerife, from early May to late September can be much cheaper than on mainland Spain. Tenerife South Airport is close to most of the golf courses and resort areas and is served by major UK airports year-round making Tenerife highly accessible for all travellers.

Abama
The magnificentAbama golf, designed by golf legend Dave Thomas, is a spectacular 18-hole championship golf course offering picturesque views of the Atlantic Ocean throughout. The rolling fairways and undulating greens of this course are framed by the Atlantic Ocean and the mountains of La Gomera. The course is maintained in immaculate condition and is surrounded by a unique landscape.
Buenavista Golf
Golf courseBuenavista was designed by Seve Ballesteros, which translates as ‘beautiful view’. It is perched on cliff tops overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Teno mountain range, providing unsurpassed views. The course is situated slightly further afield than other courses in Tenerife, but it is well worth the journey. Those who have played the course have given it excellent reviews, and it is certainly worth the drive!
Golf Costa Adeje
Costa Adeje, designed by the renowned Spanish golf architect Pepe Gancedo, obtains stunning coastal views offered throughout. The natural terrain and a number of old agricultural stone walls have all participated in creating this absolute gem. Learn more about Tenerife’s main golfing destinations: Costa Adeje, Golf del Sur, Guia de Isora, and Playa de las Americas.
Costa Adeje
Despite being next to the more famous resort of Playa de las Americas, Costa Adeje has a much more sedate atmosphere. Aqualand waterpark, beautiful sandy beach, and a variety of shops make it an excellent spot for non-golfers too.
The Golf del Sur area is a golfers paradise of Tenerife, renowned as a landscape filled with palm trees, lush fairways and greens. The area runs alongside the coast, so you can explore at your leisure and discover the restaurants and bars.
Guia de Isora is ideal for those wanting to escape the bright lights and late nights, a peaceful town with good amenities. The region of Guia de Isora lies in the shadow of the beautiful Mount Teide and has long been a popular farming region, should you be lucky enough to find yourself in one of the local markets you’ll be amazed at the wide range of products on offer!
It’s the largest and most famous of the resorts in Tenerife and has something to offer everyone. A beautiful sandy beach, excellent shopping and plenty of activities for the non-golfing members of your group. The neighbouring port of Los Cristianos is also well worth a visit and is only a short walk along the beachfront promenade. Book a golf holiday to Playa de Las Americas today!

Just returned with a group of 20 from El Rompido in Spain - had a brilliant week with excellent hotel and golf on a semi all inclusive package with 5 rounds of golf. Made a welcome change from Turkey which has got quite expensive. I have been using Golf Escapes for over 10 years and they have always offered first class service. Both Mike and Kim pay every attention to detail and their local reps abroad are also extremely efficient. Can't recommend highly enough.

We can’t speak highly enough…
Just returned from two really enjoyable weeks in Islantilla. Though the hotel has been taken over by Hilton, the staff are all retained and nothing is too much trouble. Can't fault the facilities, the food, the clubhouse, and the three courses are a joy, (extra balls for hole 2 on the blue course). The whole holiday went so smoothly and we can't speak highly enough of the friendly help and excellent communications from Golf Escapes with all aspects of the holiday. Wouldn't bother to book with anyone else.
